🎵 Musical Highlights:
This week is a strong one, musically. Dave’s Faves™:
Rusowsky’s catchy songs and effortless cool have sold out Industrial Copera two weekends in a row (Listen | Watch).
I’m not normally a metal fan, but Japanese band Green Milk From The Planet Orange look well worth checking out (Listen | Watch).
Rubem Dantas, the Brazilian percussionist that introduced the cajón to Flamenco is back at J&J (Listen | Watch).
This round of local bands at Lemon Rock offers a varied line up, all three interesting in their own way. (Listen Doctor Pretorius, Fotocromo, Fer Ku | Watch Doc P, FC, FK).
Doo-wop fans are spoilt for choice on Saturday night, having to choose between Sietemásuno (Listen | Watch) and The BlueBerries (LIsten | Watch).
Extremopuro is one of the many recent tribute nights after the passing of Robe Iniesta (front man of Extremaduro) who spent a particularly formative era for the band in La Zubia.

🚍 Free children's bus passes renewed until end of 2026. Granada has extended free city bus travel for children born between 1 Jan 2012 and 31 Dec 2026 under a national decree. To renew, take the existing pass and ID to the transport office at Acera del Darro 30.
🏠 House prices in Granada still on the rise. Granada ranks 7th among Spanish capitals for housing price increases in the past year and the rise shows no sign of slowing.
💰 Butane gas price increase. The price of butane gas cylinders rose as of 20 Jan following publication in the Boletín Oficial del Estado.
🚧 Street reform projects underway. Work has begun on reform projects for López Neyra, Ruiseñor, and Baden Powell streets, plus Minarete square.
🎧 Soundbox Kids is back, inviting young musicians to take part in a music competition focused on creativity and education. Registration is open until 23 Feb 2026, with prizes including professional recordings, digital releases, masterclasses and equipment.
